Why You’re Still Stuck (And What’s Actually Holding You Back)

🌸 This post is a soulful reminder that your stuckness isn’t failure—it’s feedback. Here’s how to listen deeper and move forward with clarity and courage.

You’ve got a dream. A calling. A quiet knowing that you’re meant for more.

But instead of moving forward, you’re spinning.

You’ve done the work—or so it seems. You’ve read the books, made the vision board, listened to all the podcasts. You’ve tried to stay high vibe, to stay positive, to manifest your way forward.

And still… nothing’s really shifted.

Sound familiar?

Here’s the truth:
You’re not stuck because you’re lazy.
You’re not stuck because you’re broken.
You’re stuck because something deeper is playing out beneath the surface.

And once you can name it—you can shift it.

🌿 Fear of the Unknown

Your nervous system isn’t wired for magic. It’s wired for safety.

Even if your current life feels frustrating or misaligned, it’s still familiar. And your mind interprets familiar as safe. That means stepping into the unknown—even if it’s toward your dream—can trigger resistance, procrastination, or sudden doubt.

It’s not because you’re weak. It’s because you’re human.

But the unknown isn’t dangerous. It’s where possibility lives. And when you start trusting yourself to handle what’s next—even when you can’t predict it—that’s when momentum returns.

💭 Mantra: “The unknown isn’t dangerous—it’s where possibility lives.”

Journaling with a cup of tes

🌸 Mini Exercise:
Take 5 minutes today with your journal and reflect:

  • What’s one unknown you’re currently avoiding?

  • If you trusted yourself fully, what would you do next?

🛒 Want a book to help you lean into uncertainty with self-trust?

The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown – A powerful invitation to embrace vulnerability and trust yourself, even when the path ahead is uncertain. (This is one of my ALL-TIME favorite reads!! You will love it if you too suffer from perfectionism as I do…I am a recovering perfectionist!)

🌿 Identity Conflict

You say you want freedom, abundance, or visibility.
But beneath the surface, an old voice whispers, “Who am I to have that?”

This kind of identity conflict doesn’t scream. It whispers.

And it’s incredibly powerful.

Because when you’re trying to become something your subconscious doesn’t believe you are—or doesn’t believe you deserve—your energy will stall. You’ll unconsciously sabotage your progress just to stay consistent with your self-concept.

That doesn’t mean you’re not meant for more.
It means your inner identity just hasn’t caught up with your outer vision—yet.

Try this reframe: Instead of asking “Who am I to have this?” try “Who am I not to?”

🌸 Mini Reflection Exercise:
Ask yourself:

  • Where in my life do I still feel like I need to “earn” my worth?

  • What’s one belief I’m ready to retire about who I think I have to be?

🌿 Old Beliefs Still Running the Show

Even after doing "the work," many of us still carry beliefs from childhood, culture, or past experiences like:

  • “I’m not smart enough.”

  • “Success means burnout.”

  • “Good things don’t last.”

These aren’t truths.
They’re outdated programs running quietly in the background—until you challenge them.

Start by noticing the recurring thoughts that feel heavy.
Ask: Is this belief mine? Is it true? Do I want to keep it?
And remember, healing doesn’t always look like a breakthrough. Sometimes it’s just the quiet choice to no longer believe the lie.

🌸 Mini Exercise:
Download my Power of Learning to Say No Workbook (on sale now!) to identify where old beliefs are pushing you into overgiving or overextending.
Then:

  • Pick one belief you’re ready to retire

  • Write out a new belief that feels more aligned

🌿 The Comfort of Familiar Discomfort

This one’s sneaky.

Because yes—even your pain, your frustration, your “stuckness” can feel… oddly safe.

You’ve learned how to manage stress. You know how to handle disappointment. But what about joy? What about ease? What about being deeply seen and supported?

We tend to resist what we haven’t learned to receive. And that includes the very things we say we want.

So, if you find yourself pulling back right when things begin to flow—it’s not sabotage. It’s survival. And it’s time to gently rewrite that pattern.

🌸 Mini Exercise:
Close your eyes and ask:

  • What part of me is still afraid to feel joy or peace?

  • What would it feel like to allow just 5% more ease into my day?

🛒 Resource to support boundary re-patterning:
The Book of Boundaries by Melissa Urban – Practical, empowering scripts to help you say yes to what’s truly aligned. (Again, this is one of my favorites!)

🌿 Getting Lost in the “How”

One of the most common traps in manifestation (and personal growth in general) is this:

“How is this ever going to happen?”

When you obsess over the logistics, you disconnect from the vision. You get stuck in logic instead of alignment. You try to control, over-plan, overthink… and the energy collapses.

Your job is not to control the how.
Your job is to trust the vision, align your energy, and take the next right step.

✨ The path reveals itself as you move—not before.

🌸 Mini Journaling Exercise:
Pause and reflect:

  • What outcome am I trying too hard to force or “figure out”?

  • What would surrender look like here—just for today?

📘 A powerful book that helped me release control and return to trust:
Radical Acceptance by Tara Brach – A beautiful, compassionate guide to stop resisting where you are and begin moving forward with presence and power.
