From Rising Recruiter to Empowerment Coach: A Personal Odyssey.
In 1989, I stepped into the world of recruitment as a Junior Recruiter in the vibrant city of New York, aiming high and dreaming big. Swiftly climbing the ranks, I found my stride among the top 3 recruiters nationwide within just four years. The magic happened when I realized my flair for sales and the art of connecting dream jobs with deserving candidates. Yet, despite the professional triumphs, a sense of undervaluation and underappreciation lingered after nearly eight years of unwavering dedication.
The turning point arrived when a simple request for a modest 5% raise fell on deaf ears. As I retraced my steps back to my cubicle, a flame of determination ignited within me. Taking charge of my destiny, over the next 9 months I prepared to launch my own venture, Staffing Advantage, reclaiming control over my earnings and steering my own success. The journey was riddled with challenges, but the decision to embrace autonomy was truly invigorating.
Navigating The Pivots: Transforming Tragedy into Triumph!
From 1996 to 2001, I led a thriving staffing firm in White Plains, New York, serving Fortune 500 companies with a dedicated team of 70+. Then came the life-altering events of 9/11, prompting a soul-searching moment. Despite the prosperity of my staffing firm, I felt a profound shift; my career, though fulfilling, no longer resonated with my soul.
Fueled by a hunger for profound change, I turned to my passion for holistic healing and bodywork. Just 7 days after the tragic events of 9/11, I enrolled in Massage Therapy School and embarked on the journey to become a Therapeutic Massage Therapist and CranioSacral Therapist while still at the helm of my staffing firm. Two years later, armed with a massage therapy degree, I closed Staffing Advantage to open a Wellness Center in Ridgefield, Ct., which flourished for two decades.
In 2016, a new calling beckoned. With the freedom of an empty nest, I embraced yet another career shift. Drawing upon my corporate recruiting, career counseling, and entrepreneurial experience, coupled with my knowledge of health and wellness, I enrolled in an intensive training program with the World Coach Institute. One year of dedication later, I emerged with my Professional Life and Career Coach certification. Throughout this journey, I continued to assist loyal bodywork clients while gradually building my coaching practice part-time.
The seismic shifts of the 2020 global pandemic demanded another pivot. As my wellness center closed its doors temporarily, I seized the opportunity to launch a full-time coaching practice. Leaving behind a thriving business and cherished clients turned friends was undoubtedly challenging, but the allure of transforming lives and working remotely proved irresistible. Today, I consider myself blessed to support and encourage clients as they embark on their unique paths toward a more fulfilling life and career.
